About The Shopkeepers
The Old Mill Stores is owned by Tom Keane and Claire Graham. Tom’s background is in Antique Stoves (restored, solid-fuel) and furniture retail. He was a poet in a former life! Mine (Claire) is in journalism, interior design and retail consultancy. We like to travel (always good for ‘shop’ shopping), cooking and eating, family life, the sea, our dogs, and where we live in west Cork. Roisin is our right hand woman who jumps in whenever we are under pressure. Zebo (our Jug – Jack Russel/Pug cross) is pretty good in the customer relations department and Bruno (big and hairy) is head of shop security and chief stick chaser.
The Old Mill Stores (TOMS) is an independent entity – we personally choose everything we sell – bringing you only the pieces we love and want to share.
Since opening in 2012 TOMS has become something of a destination – we’ve designed it to be part lifestyle store, part creative experience and part experimental showcase for homeware and design.
At TOMS we keep things fresh – in a generic world we strive to be different – in our stock, in our display, in our attitude. Nobody else has a shop like TOMS – truly!
We’re very picky – we hunt far and wide for the unusual, for great design, for things that are useful, beautiful, industrial, kitsch, cool, simple, sophisticated, hand-crafted, sustainable and good.
